PKKH Editorial

“He Died of the bullet wounds in his chest and head”

Tahir Ahmad Sofi : A resident of old town Baramulla, pursuing his Master’s degree in Physical Education- was killed by Indian army on 04th March 2013, while protesting against the death of ‘Mudasir Ahmad Malla’.The protest was to demand an impartial probe into the death of Mudassir late last week, as his body bore marks of violence.

Dr.Mudassir Malla, a research scholar, was found hanging in a hostel room, in the English and Foreign Languages University of Hyderabad (India). He had been released just two days before, after being arrested for taking part in anti Afzal hanging demonstration. Reports say that one of his professors and some other university-fellows were annoyed with him for taking part in activities to condemn the hanging of Afzal Guru.

The valley of Kashmir has been on the edge since the hanging of Mohammad Afzal Guru. Unprovoked killing of 24 years old Tahir Sofi of Baramulla, following the mysterious death of  Dr. Mudassir Malla  in Hyderabad city of India shows how easy it is for Indians to kill innocent Kashmiris anywhere, anytime.

Spree of killing continues in Indian Occupied Kashmir, these vicious cycles keep on repeating, blowing the myths around the world’s largest hypocrite nation, the so called ‘democracy’ known as India. Each vicious cycle reminds the world of the brutal oppression of Kashmir going on since decades.

Gross Human rights violation in the form of extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, rapes and mass-graves stand tall as the epitaphs spreading across this beautiful occupied land. To add salt to the wounds of Kashmiris, the perpetrators of the crimes enjoy impunity under the blanket of black laws. No closure to crimes against humanity, gives ample fuel to infuriate any sane soul.

Each scream and each wail coming out of this beautiful vale reminds the whole world about its quest for freedom. The resilience this oppressed nation has shown over the decades is commendable.

What adds to the agony is the silence of the global community even after being a witness to the crimes executed by India over the people of Kashmir. When will the conscience of the world rise? When will any champion state of human rights stand up and speak out for the innocent and the voiceless? Time has come to show the mirror to India who claims to be the epitome of so-called democracy.

Imagine a hypocrite nation pumping billions of dollars, to sustain its tyrant army, amidst a people who have never and will never accept it, just to keep its unlawful hegemony over a territory since decades. Every innocent killed by Indian atrocity leaves a promising mark on the forehead of detestable India that India will never be able to win the hearts and minds of the Kashmiris.

If India considers itself a Democratic state, it has no right to suppress the internationally recognized freedom struggle of Kashmir. PKKH aims to express its deepest condolences for the distress suffered at every loss of life by the Kashmiris; we give the message to our Kashmiri brethren that Pakistan stands behind Kashmir, inshaAllah.
